Import Luma Registrants
into HackHQ

Export your Luma guest list as a CSV and import participants into HackHQ in minutes. No Luma Plus subscription, no API keys - just a simple CSV upload.

No Luma Plus Required

The Luma API requires a Luma Plus subscription, but CSV export is available on every Luma plan, including the free tier. This guide uses the free CSV export method that works for everyone.

How to Import in 5 Steps

1

Export your guest list from Luma

Open your event on Luma and navigate to the guest list management page.

  1. Go to your Luma event dashboard
  2. Select the Guests tab
  3. Click the Download CSV button
  4. Save the CSV file to your computer

If you have custom questions on your Luma registration form, they will appear as additional columns in the CSV export.

2

Create your event on HackHQ

If you haven't already, create your hackathon event on HackHQ. Set up your event details, schedule, judging criteria, and submission requirements.

In your HackHQ event dashboard, go to the Participants section and start the import process.

  1. Open your event's Manage > Participants page
  2. Click Import
  3. Drag and drop your Luma CSV file or click to browse

Duplicates are flagged so you can review them

5

Confirm and start your hackathon
