Certificates and Awards

Access your hackathon certificates on HackHQ. Add achievements to LinkedIn, share verification links, and understand award badges.

After the organizer publishes results, certificates and awards become available on your project page.

Awards

If your project won any awards, they appear as badges on your project page:

  • Gold badge for 1st place
  • Silver badge for 2nd place
  • Bronze badge for 3rd place

Awards are visible on both your manage page and the public share page, so anyone viewing your project can see what you won.

Certificates

Every team member gets their own certificate, regardless of whether your project won an award. Certificates appear in the Certificates section on your manage page.

Each certificate includes:

  • Your name
  • Your team members
  • The project name
  • The event name, dates, and hosting organization
  • Any awards your project won
  • A unique verification URL anyone can visit to confirm the certificate is real

Adding to LinkedIn

Each team member's certificate has an Add to LinkedIn button. Clicking it opens LinkedIn with the certification details pre-filled:

  • Certificate name: Your event name and awards
  • Issuing organization: The event's hosting organization
  • Issue date: Based on the event dates
  • Credential URL: A verification link back to HackHQ

You can also click the verification link icon to view the certificate page directly. This page is publicly accessible and can be shared with employers, included in portfolios, or linked from a resume.

Certificates are only available on the manage page (the link from your email), not on the public share page. This ensures only team members can add certificates to their LinkedIn profiles.

When do certificates appear?

Certificates become available as soon as the organizer publishes results. You'll receive an email notification when this happens, with a link to your project page where you can access your certificate.

If you don't see certificates on your project page, results haven't been published yet. Check with your event organizer.
