Manage event billing, set prize currency, control event status, archive past events, and configure deletion settings on HackHQ.
The Settings tab is the last tab on the event dashboard. It handles billing, preferences, event lifecycle, and deletion.
Billing
The billing section shows your event's current plan and lets you upgrade. Every event starts on the Free plan. You can upgrade to Starter or Pro at any time from this section. See Plans and Billing for the full plan comparison.
After upgrading, the card shows your plan name, payment date, and a link to your workspace billing page for invoices and subscription management.
Preferences
Prize currency
Choose the currency used to display prize amounts on the event page and in the Manage Prizes modal. HackHQ supports:

The default is USD. Changing the currency updates all prize displays across the event.
Event status
Events have two states:
- Active: The event is live and fully editable. Submissions, voting, and results all function normally.
- Archived: The event is read-only. All data remains accessible, but no changes can be made. Archive an event when it is complete to keep your dashboard clean.
Click Archive Event to archive, or Restore Event to bring an archived event back to active. Archiving does not delete any data.
If your event was refunded, it is permanently locked and cannot be restored or modified.
Danger zone
The danger zone contains the Delete event button. Deleting an event is irreversible: all data (submissions, votes, judges, results) is permanently removed.
Restrictions:
- Only the event owner can delete an event
- Archived events must be restored before they can be deleted
- Refunded events cannot be deleted
