Live Results

Share live hackathon leaderboards on HackHQ. Ceremony tips, CSV exports, and sharing results with stakeholders.

The HackHQ results page reflects the latest scores as judges submit them. You can share it as a live display during your event or publish it after judging is complete.

Live display during events

The leaderboard reflects the latest scores as judges submit them. You can share it on a shared screen during your hackathon's demo day or closing ceremony for a live reveal.

To use it as a live display:

  1. Open the Results tab on the device connected to your screen
  2. Refresh the page to pull in the latest scores as judges submit them
  3. Use the competition filter to reveal track and challenge winners one by one
  4. Switch between "Judges" and "Audience" tabs if you have a People's Choice award

Lock voting before the ceremony so the leaderboard is final. This prevents last-minute score changes during the reveal.

Sharing results

Once published, share the results with:

  • Participants: They'll receive an email notification with a link to their certificates
  • Sponsors and stakeholders: Share the event page link or export a CSV report
  • Social media: Link to the project gallery to celebrate winners

Exporting data

Click the download icon on the leaderboard to export comprehensive data as CSV:

  • Final rankings and weighted scores
  • Per-criteria average scores (with weight percentages when non-uniform)
  • Track and challenge average scores
  • Voter feedback (from both judges and audience)
  • Submission details, custom field responses, and team information
  • Competition assignments and project links

This is useful for creating custom reports for sponsors, university administrators, or company leadership.

Tips for results ceremonies

  • Lock voting before the ceremony so the leaderboard is final
  • Assign all awards in the sidebar before going live so badges appear immediately
  • Use the competition filter to reveal track and challenge winners one by one
